This is an ongoing foundational course in the Gnostic teachings, running each Tuesday night at the Albany Gnosis Center (Est in 2000).

Topics include esoteric psychology, the awakening of the consciousness, meditation, the mysteries of life and death, the Law of Karma and Dharma, astral travel and dream yoga, Kabbalah, transcendental sexology, to name a few.

Our program is comprised of 33 lessons (see full list here); each class consists of a talk and a guided meditation practice.  Practices range from introductory techniques of relaxation, breathing and meditation, to reflections of a philosophical and psychological nature, with keys that can be applied in daily life.

Our center is located at a residential address. This beautiful house was converted into a series of lecture halls and meditation rooms.

No prior studies or experience are necessary; everyone is welcome.

Cost is $10 per class. We are a registered non-for-profit organization.

“There is only one thing we pursue, one goal, one objective: Christification. It is necessary that each person Christifies himself. It is necessary to incarnate the Christ.  Amongst the Persians Christ is Ormuz, Ahura Mazda, the terrible enemy of Ahriman (Satan), which we have within us. Amongst the Hindus, Krishna is Christ, and the gospel of Krishna is very similar to that of Jesus of Nazareth. Among the Egyptians, Christ is Osiris and whoever incarnated him was in fact an Osirified One. Amongst the Chinese it is Fu Hsi, the Cosmic Christ who composed the I-Ching (The Book of Laws) and named the Dragon Ministers. Among the Greeks, Christ is called Zeus, Jupiter, the Father of the Gods. Amongst the Aztecs it is Quetzalcoatl, the Mexican Christ. In the Germanic Edda it is Balder, the Christ who was assassinated by Hoder, God of War, with an arrow of mistletoe etc. Thus we can find the Cosmic Christ in thousands of ancient texts and old traditions that came millions of years before Jesus. All this invites us to accept that Christ is a cosmic principle contained in the essential principles of all religions.”

“My advice to you, whoever you may be, Oh you who desire to explore the Mysteries of Nature; if you do not discover within yourself that which you seek, neither will you find it without. If you ignore the excellence of your own house, how can you aspire to find excellence elsewhere? Within you is hidden the treasure of treasures. Oh Man! Know thyself, and you will know the universe and the Gods.”

“It is indubitable that the Buddha, the doctrine, religion, and wisdom are endowed within the Essence, within the Consciousness. In synthesis, we can affirm that the Essence, the Consciousness, is endowed with the indispensable data for regeneration, inner self-realization, and for the living completion of everything that we have stated in these lectures. This means that if the basic principles of regeneration are endowed within that primary element, which is the primordial foundation of all our psychic organization, obviously the first thing that we need to do is to destroy, to annihilate our second nature, which is that infernal type of nature within which the Essence is imprisoned.”

“If we carefully observe any day of our life, we’ll certainly see that we do not know how to live consciously. Our life seems like a train in motion, moving upon the fixed tracks of the mechanical and rigid habits of a vain and superficial existence. The most intriguing aspect of this matter is that it never occurs to us to modify habits. It seems that we never get weary of always repeating the same thing. We have become petrified by our habits. Nevertheless we think that we are free. We are dreadfully ugly; yet we think of ourselves as “Apollos.” We are mechanical people; this mechanicity is more than enough reason to deprive us of any true sensibility in regard to what we are doing in life.”

“Change your thoughts, change your world. If in fact and in a very sincere form we want to establish the basis for correct meditation, it is necessary to comprehend ourselves in all the levels of the mind. To establish the correct basis of meditation is in fact to be free from ambition, selfishness, fear, hatred, greed of psychic powers, the yearning of results, etc. It is clear that after establishing the cornerstone of  meditation, the mind remains still and in profound and imposing silence. From the rigorously logical point of view, it’s absurd to want to experience the Real without knowing ourselves. It is urgent to comprehend in an integral form and in all the levels of the mind each problem as it is arising in the mind, each desire, each memory, each psychological defect, etc. Anyway you look at it is clear that during the practice of  meditation, through the screen of the mind pass in sinister procession all the psychological defects that characterize us, all our joys and sadness, innumerable memories, multiple impulses that come now from the exterior world, now from the inner world, desires of all type, passions of all kind, old resentments, hatreds, etc. If the yogi perseveres in his internal meditation, if he is constant, tenacious, infinitely patient, after a certain time, the first clairvoyant perceptions appear.”

INSPIRATIONAL QUOTES

“now thyself! This was written on the posterior part of the threshold of the temples of mysteries in ancient Greece. This is the only purpose of life, that the human being must know himself as a child of God, as a God himself over the Earth, so that the Earth can be transformed into a beautiful garden where liberty, equality, and fraternity is the law of love for all humans.”

– SAMAEL AUN WEOR

“If we really want a radical change, the first thing we must comprehend is that each one of us… is in one Level of Being or another. What is our Level of Being? Have you ever reflected upon this? It is impossible to pass to another level if we ignore the state in which we find ourselves.”

– SAMAEL AUN WEOR

“But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.”

– JESUS CHRIST
